Background
The practice was founded in 2024 by Dr Moira van der Merwe after working most of her life in emergency medicine There is no place than the emergency environment to redefine the true value of human connection and to see the presence of a Higher Hand in every millisecond of life and death.
Her dream is to play a role in the much-needed changes in our health care system and to help to build a system that uses the efficiencies of the digital area to improve human connection and access to care in healthcare setting.
Dr Moira leads our team with dedication, compassion, and a strong commitment. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her patients, taking the time to listen, understand their individual needs, and guide them towards better health and wellbeing. Her clinical expertise, empathy, and leadership make her an invaluable part of our practice.
She is married to Ockert, who works in the agricultural sector. Together they are raising four neurodiverse children, each at a different stage of life. Outside of medicine, she is a talented musician who enjoys spending time in nature.
Dr Wilma has an exceptional ability to gather and interpret information, enabling her to identify the underlying causes of complex health concerns. Her warm and approachable nature helps patients feel comfortable and understood, while her commitment to treating every individual with dignity, respect, and compassion is evident in all aspects of her care.
Known for her practical approach to problem-solving and her keen attention to detail, Dr Wilma is dedicated to helping patients navigate both medical and everyday health challenges with confidence. She is married to Andre, a paediatrician, and is a devoted mother of three. Outside of her professional life, she is a talented baker, renowned for creating delicious fudge and beautifully crafted baked treats.
Dr Chrisnaline is the newest addition to our team and has quickly earned the respect of both colleagues and patients through her dedication, professionalism, and thoughtful approach to patient care. She has a remarkable ability to understand the broader context of each situation, allowing her to provide balanced, patient-centred care. She has a natural rapport with children and their families, creating a welcoming and reassuring environment for her paediatric patients. In addition, she is skilled and confident in performing a range of advanced clinical procedures .
Known for her strong sense of fairness, organization, and attention to detail, Dr Chrisnaline plays an invaluable role within our team and practice management. We are privileged to have her as part of our team and value the expertise, compassion, and energy she brings to our practice.
